Budget Process Outline


• Preliminary drafts of the proposed budget are presented to the Board of Education Finance Committee during a series of public meetings. The committee, along with the Superintendent, Business Manager and Administrators work to provide the best possible education for our students within a fiscally responsible budget that will be supported by our community.

• Board of Education Finance Committee meetings, open to the public, are held in February and March

• In March, the BOE Finance Committee will present the preliminary budget and annual notice with voter propositions, to the full Board for approval. Nominating petitions for persons seeking a seat on the Board of Education will be available.


• A detailed account of the school district budget will be presented to the Board for final approve prior to the vote in May.

• Property Tax Report Card is submitted to New York State Education Department

• Board of Education Nominating Petitions are due in the Office of the District Clerk

• Drawing for position on the ballot will he held.


• A brochure detailing the school district budget, announcing the Board of Education candidates and containing the Property Tax Report Card will be mailed to district residents in early May.

• A public Budget Hearing will be held prior to the regularly scheduled Board meeting providing the public with budget details.

• District Budget Vote and Board of Education Election will be held in the auditorium lobby from 12pm - 8pm on the third Tuesday of the month.
