Elementary band students spent part of their weekend at the New York State School Music Association's (NYSSMA) Solo Music Festival, and took home high praise from those in attendance.
Students spent months preparing their scales, solo pieces, and sight reading to perform before an adjudicator that evaluated their performance. This year's festival also served as a training site for new evaluators, meaning some students had the added pressure of playing in front of more adjudicators than expected.
After their performances, the following students received the following accolades:
Level 1 Excellent: Elaina Jacques, Isabell Lamere, Eric Pearson, Jason Russell, Brady Sheehan and Gabriel Welch
Level 2 Excellent: Frankie Pascucci
Level 3 Excellent: Maddie Hitchcock
Level 1 Outstanding: Makayla Kearns, Frankie Knorr, Bailey Potter, Ben Rich, Laila Stengrevics, Jacoby Wason
Level 2 Outstanding (with a perfect score!): Brayden Denvir
