The Waterford-Halfmoon UFSD is excited to share that for the first time since 2019, students will be able to participate in All-County and All-State music festivals again!
The Saratoga-Warren County Music Educators Association (SWCMEA) is hosting its All-County Chorus Festival on November 4 and 5, 2022 at Queensbury High School. Congratulations to the following 12 student musicians who have been selected to represent the district and sing in these select ensembles: Chelsie Watkins, Divine Lee, Paxon Kuemmel, Selene Novak, Leroy Murphy, Joseph Colton, Ella Brenenstuhl, Aidan Roy, Julia Spretty, Jacoby Wason, Sam Hoefer, Makayla Kearns, and Violet Curran.
The New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) sponsors opportunities to highlight and provide enrichment for students who excel in music. Students across NYS who demonstrate musical skills at NYSSMA levels five and six are eligible to apply for a spot in the Area All-State ensembles. This year, Area All-State will take place at Saratoga Springs High School on November 18 and 19, 2022. We are proud of our three outstanding student musicians who were selected for this honor this year: Julia Spretty (Bb Clarinet, in the Symphonic Orchestra), Ella Brenenstuhl, and Aidan Roy (Alto and Bass, respectively, in the Mixed Chorus).
The Waterford-Halfmoon Jr/Sr HS music department is thrilled to share that senior chorus member Aidan Roy has been selected to participate in the All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble based on his performance at the NYSSMA Solo Festival and audition for the NYSSMA All-State ensembles last spring. The NYSSMA All-State Conference will take place in Rochester, NY during the first week of December 2022.

The Waterford-Halfmoon Jr/Sr HS music department is excited to share that Senior Band Member and Clarinetist Julia Spretty has been selected to perform in the 2022 NYSSMA All-State Symphonic Band! Julia auditioned for this All-State ensemble last spring by preparing and performing a solo at the NYSSMA Solo Festival. This will be Julia's second year in a row performing at the annual conference, which takes place during the first week of December in Rochester.
