Eric Devine Named Junior/Senior High School Assistant Principal

Waterford-Halfmoon UFSD is pleased to welcome Eric Devine as the new Assistant Junior/Senior High Principal / Director of Curriculum and Instruction. The Board of Education formally approved his appointment during their December 2025 meeting.
Mr. Devine comes from an instructional background, having worked as a secondary English teacher for the past 24 years. He has also served as an education consultant and as an EdTech content and curriculum writer. The shift to an administration role was a logical progression for him.
"I have always led in various capacities within the departments and buildings I have been a part of, so the move was a natural next step for me," he said.
Mr. Devine is excited to work in the community he calls home and looks forward to getting to know each student. He encourages them to prioritize well-being alongside achievement.
"Your education will help set you up for life, but it's important to build a life you truly enjoy," he said.
"Mr. Devine brings valuable experience and a strong commitment to student success that will benefit our entire school community. I’m excited to welcome him to our district," said Superintendent Michael Healey.
When he isn't at school, he likes to spend time with his wife and two daughters, read, garden, and be outdoors with his two dogs. He is also the author of six young adult novels.
