Mrs. Strife Named NYS Master Teacher

Sixth-grade teacher Annemarie Strife has been selected as a NYS Outstanding STEM Teacher-Leader through the Master Teacher Program. She joins a network of the state's highest-performing STEM teachers, dedicated to growing as educators and providing exceptional learning experiences for students.
Strife is passionate about making science relevant and accessible to all students.
"Science is for everyone, and every student should have the opportunity to explore, question, and discover—that's what gets me excited about teaching," she said.
Strife has been teaching at WHUFSD since 1996, most recently as an earth and space science teacher. She is an advisor to the Elementary Yearbook Club and has been a mentor to FIRST Team 20 at Shenendehowa High School. She has hosted numerous student teachers and has mentored many new teachers in her district. She currently serves on her district's mentoring and APPR committees.
“Mrs. Strife inspires curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of science in her students while also supporting fellow educators. She is an outstanding teacher whose work has a lasting impact on students every day, and we are incredibly proud to see her honored as a NYS Master Teacher—an honor that is truly well-deserved," said Superintendent Michael Healey.
