Lisa Palmer Named New Elementary Principal

Waterford-Halfmoon UFSD is pleased to welcome Lisa Palmer as the new principal of the Elementary School, effective July 1, 2025. Mrs. Palmer brings more than twenty years of educational experience, having served as a classroom teacher and in leadership positions at the building, district, and regional levels. The Board of Education formally approved her appointment during their April meeting.
"Mrs. Palmer brings a wealth of knowledge that centers on a deep commitment to student success. I am confident that our elementary school will continue to thrive under her leadership," said Superintendent Michael Healey.
It's that firm foundation that Mrs. Palmer is eager to build on.
"I want to create an environment where everyone can keep growing and learning. My focus will be on providing clear guidance, resources, and support to inspire teaching and learning, to ensure every student receives a quality education that meets their individual needs," she said.
When it comes to advice for students, she encourages them to bring their best selves and celebrate their successes together.
"I always tell students that it doesn't matter what anyone else is doing - it matters most what you are doing. And it's important to root for each other and watch each other grow!" she said.
When Mrs. Palmer isn't at school, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. She lives in Wilton with her husband, two incredible sons, and a lovable pup. She loves this region and all it has to offer. She enjoys the outdoors, including walking, paddleboarding, gardening, and attending sporting events. She also enjoys cooking, working on small home projects, and learning new things.
