Students from our Waterford-Halfmoon Art Department had the opportunity to travel to New York City, and explored the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They had a picnic in Central Park and participated in a scavenger hunt to find more than 25 pieces of art that teachers will reference throughout their high school careers.

"We really just wanted our students to get the chance to experience this amazing place in person and see these artworks up close as opposed to on a computer screen," said Visual Arts Educator Erin Bridgers.

Fun facts about the Metropolitan Museum of Art:

- The Met is the largest art museum in the United States, and the fourth-largest art museum in the world

- The Met houses over 2 million pieces of art, spanning 5,000 years of world culture
